Bots are a real part of a Productivity Life Style

Have you asked the question...

"What are all the ways I can use the assistant that comes with my phone?"

If not => you SHOULD and here’s why…

First up what is a Bot?

Bot (robot) – definition by TechTarget.com found through WhatIs.com

A Bot (short for "robot") is a program that operates as an agent for a user or another program or simulates a human activity. On the Internet, the most ubiquitous bots are the programs, also called spiders or crawlers, that access Web sites and gather their content for search engine indexes.

Now that we know what a Bot is (well… sort of ;~D) where do WE run into them? Answer => on our smart phones. If you are an iPhone owner your bot assistant is named Siri (having changed Siri’s accent – I now call mine Sir Sirian), if you own an Android phone yours is called Google Now, and finally if you own a Windows phone (first of all my condolences ;~D) yours is named Cortana.

Next what can these bot’s do for you? A LOT! Here is an article by PCMag.com comparing the three, but in general – they can save you a lot of time! I could rehash the articles about what they do but… that is not the purpose of this post!! What I would like to say is… if you are not incorporating these bots into your everyday life, YOU NEED to be. YES => I am giving you Homework! Just like the people who resisted computers… you don’t want to be in the group who resisted bots. My first step suggestion: I would start with incorporating the use of bots with your calendar and your GPS. Instead of typing everything, start getting used to talking to your phone – ala Captain Kirk. It takes a while to get used to it and for the phone to get used to you, but do it now while it is a fun thing to learn. Do not wait until you are at the office and they had you a new device, expecting that working with bots is second nature to you…
